Eeva-Kaarina Koskelo,PhD,eMBA

Vice President, Clinical Operations, Europe and Asia

Dr Koskelo has over 20 years of experience in related clinical research in academic, biotechnology and pharmaceutical fields with a rich multicultural background. Of this over 10 years was spent managing drug development projects in collaboration with international pharmaceutical/non-profit sponsors. She has managed phase I through IV studies in full service capacity and also participated in full drug development program planning with the sponsors. The majority of her projects have been large global projects that spanned over all continents - North America, Latin America, Europe, Africa, India, SE Asia and Australia/New Zealand. Her therapeutic area expertise includes Anti-infective diseases, Cardiovascular diseases, CNS, Oncology and Internal Medicine. Furthermore, she has significant experience in paediatric studies having managed 11 global studies/programs primarily under FDA written request.

Dr Koskelo is a native Finn who has held residencies in Germany, South Africa and US. She lived in the US from 1992 until 2008 where she initially worked in a small start up biotechnology company and for the past 11 years held senior positions at Quintiles. During this time she moved twice to South Africa as intercompany transfer gaining hands on experience on local global project management.

Dr Koskelo brings to Encorium a wealth of global project management experience. Having lived in three different continents she has a natural way of understanding various cultures and is able to work effectively across all borders. She thoroughly enjoys international business and is very strong on virtual team management. She received her Ph.D. and M.S. in Nutrition from the University of Helsinki, and her Executive MBA from the School of Economics in Helsinki, Helsinki, Finland in 1991. She has authored 10 publications and is a member of the Drug Information Association (DIA).
