Advisory Experience
Shahab has over 20 years of investment experience specializing in representing companies in the healthcare industry. Shahab has advised clients in a variety of transactions, including merger and acquisition advisory, capital raising advisory (both debt and equity securities), technology licensing, and fairness opinions. His clients include leading private equity groups, public and private companies. Shahab has significant experience working on cross-border transactions and has worked on numerous transactions throughout Europe and Asia.
Industry Experience
As the head of Lincoln’s Healthcare group, Shahab understands value drivers of healthcare companies and how to best position these companies. Over the last two decades, Shahab has specialized in the healthcare sector and advised companies in the healthcare and pharmaceutical services, diagnostic, research tools, and selective biotech and medical technology situations. Shahab also currently serves on three boards of directors of both private and public companies in the therapeutic and healthcare services sectors.
Past Affiliations
Prior to joining Lincoln International in 2010, Shahab led the healthcare practice of GCA Savvian for 5 years and started its Chicago office. Among his client and transactional experience he successfully advised most of the firm's Japanese merger transactions in the U.S. during his tenure.
From 1994 to 2004, Shahab was a senior partner at Vector Securities International, a boutique firm focused on the healthcare sector. Shahab expanded the firm’s practice to include healthcare services and the diagnostic and research tools sectors in both banking and research.
Shahab began his career with the firm of Kidder, Peabody & Co where he served in the international investment banking department working closely with the London, Geneva, Paris and Tokyo offices. At Kidder, Peabody, where he served for two years in the London office, Shahab played an important role in providing innovative international opportunities to the firm's U.S. clients. When the firm was acquired in 1987, Shahab co-headed Paine Webber's life science funding subsidiary before moving to Chicago.
Academic Credentials
Shahab earned a Master of Business Administration degree from Columbia University. He graduated with honors from Cambridge University with a Bachelors of Arts and Master Degree. He is currently a Visiting Committee member of the school of public policy at the University of Chicago.
